Who can have the treatment?

Tinting is for everyone providing you don’t have an allergy to the tint! All new clients must receive a patch test at least 24 hours before tinting can be performed, even if you regularly get tinted elsewhere as different types of tints are used. Pregnant clients may also be asked to have another patch test before tinting as pregnancy can make you more susceptible to the ingredients used!

Pre-treatment

We would ask all clients to remove their contacts (if warn) prior to treatment, and any eye makeup, specifically mascara as tint can not be applied over the top of it.

What does the treatment involve?

Vaseline will be applied around the yes and eyebrows to prevent tint from staining the skin. Any staining that does occur will simply wash off the skin by the evening. Cotton pads will then be placed underneath the bottom lashes to lift the bottom lashes ensuring then get thoroughly tinted. Tint is then applied to the lashes and brows. The client’s eyes must remain closed for 10-15 minutes during application. After 10-15 minutes your therapist will remove the tint using damp cotton pads.

Does it hurt?

Rarely a mild stinging can occur, this is usually a result of the removal process and if it does occur your eyes can be bathed using a saline solution which immediately relieves the discomfort.

How long does the treatment take?

Eyelash tinting takes around 20 minutes, brow tinting takes around 10 minutes.

How long does tinting last?

Tint does not wash out, it grows out as you naturally lose your eyelash and eyebrow hairs. Tinting should last approximately a month depending on hair colour.
