Thread veins can be unsightly and can really knock your confidence.
Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash lamp to quickly remove those thin veins from your face!
A thread vein is a small blood vessel near the surface of your skin. The ellipse operator guides the visible light from the flash lamp to the blood vessels needing treatment.
Blood contains haemoglobin that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein. As a result the veins will gradually, and safely disappear after treatment.
Thread veins all over the face can be treated. As treatment relies on absorption of light by the haemoglobin in the blood, the most effective results are seen with light skin. The lighter the skin the more pronounced the contrast between the vessel and the skin, making treatment easier. However, ellipse has pre-programmed settings for different skin colours that deliver the correct energy output for your complexion.
Most people describe the sensation as similar to that of a rubber band snapping against the skin, followed by a warm sensation lasting several minutes.
The treatment time depends on the size of the area that needs treating and the number of vessels to be treated. A single session typically lasts 10-20 minutes.
It is important to avoid tanning (sun/solarium/fake tan) before and during the treatment period. Otherwise your tanned skin will absorb more light, making treatment less effective.
The number of treatments needed depends on the severity of the thread vein. 1-4 treatments is average, and these treatments should be timed 1 month apart.
